| Posted: 13 Nov 2014 03:45 PM PST Weather-Related Game Weekend ChangesThis post will be updated periodically to inform fans about weather-related game weekend changes. 11/13/14, 1:15 PM ET Tunnel Tours on Friday, November 14th have been canceled in order to allow for snow removal from the stadium prior to Saturday’s game against Northwestern. Pedal cab and courtesy cart services have been suspended for Friday, November 14th. Some pedal cabs and courtesy carts are set to operate on Saturday, November 15th. | Posted: 11 Nov 2014 11:34 AM PST The Notre Dame-Northwestern football pep rally Friday (Nov. 14th) will be in Compton Family Ice Arena on the University of Notre Dame campus. Doors will open at 5 p.m. EDT with the rally beginning at 5:45 p.m. As always, the rally is free and open to the public. The rink will be covered and as many as 2,000 fans will be allowed on the floor directly in front of the stage. The facility itself seats just more than 5,000 spectators and seating is on a first come, first serve basis. The Notre Dame Marching Band, Leprechaun and cheerleaders will be in the house to help cheer on the Irish. The Compton Family Ice Arena will also hold a post-pep rally public skate. | Posted: 13 Nov 2014 06:07 AM PST Added parking lots and shuttle service for fans attending Fighting Irish games on Friday night.Notre Dame Athletics Event Parking MapNOTRE DAME, Ind. — With no fewer than six athletics events scheduled for the University of Notre Dame campus on Friday evening, the University’s departments of athletics and parking services have designed a comprehensive parking plan to handle the increased number of fans attending these various contests. Following the Notre Dame football luncheon (noon ET in the Joyce Center Fieldhouse/north dome), the Fighting Irish women’s swimming and diving team will be the first team in action, playing host to Illinois at 5 p.m. (ET) at the Rolfs Aquatic Center. The traditional football pep rally will begin at 5:45 p.m. (ET) inside the Compton Family Ice Arena. The third-ranked Notre Dame women’s basketball team will open its 2014-15 season at 6 p.m. (ET), welcoming UMass Lowell to Purcell Pavilion. One hour later at 7 p.m. (ET), the No. 12/11 Notre Dame women’s soccer team kicks off NCAA Championship play with a first-round match against Valparaiso at Alumni Stadium. The Fighting Irish women’s fencing team takes on Northwestern in an exhibition match at 7:30 p.m. (ET) inside the Joyce Center Fieldhouse before the Notre Dame men’s basketball team wraps up the evening’s activities, facing Binghamton at 9 p.m. (ET) in the Hall of Fame Tipoff Tournament at Purcell Pavilion. In addition, signage will be posted in all parking lots, shuttle stops and other adjacent thoroughfares, directing fans to available parking facilities. Fans also will receive postcards with information on shuttle routes, pick-up locations and a map of available parking lots. “We understand and sympathize with the challenges our fans will face on Friday, due to the increased number of events,” said Jack Swarbrick , University vice president and director of athletics. “We believe this parking plan is an important step in enhancing the Notre Dame fan experience during this time of tremendous campus growth. | Golden Notes: Trumpets Under the Dome Posted: 11 Nov 2014 11:33 AM PST For everyone here in the Game Day office, we feel a home game coming as soon as the clock hits zero on the previous weekend’s game. However, for everyone else in here in the Dome, they feel the game weekend arrive at 4:00 PM on Fridays when hundreds of fans fill the rotunda of the Main Building to catch the Notre Dame Trumpets play under the Dome. Fans fill the rings of the third and fourth floors of the Dome to look down at the Trumpets on the second floor as they play the Alma Mater and the Victory March. It’s a great way to welcome fans and the arrival of a Notre Dame Football weekend. Coming to campus this weekend? Be sure to catch the trumpets today, Friday, November 14th at 4:00 PM. Can’t make it? Catch “Trumpets Under the Dome” on Saturday, November 15th at 2:30 PM. For this performance, the Trumpets will line the third and fourth floors of the Main Building, so grab a great viewing spot on the second floor.
