Golden Notes: Trumpets Under the Dome

Posted: 24 Aug 2015 12:16 PM PDT

For everyone here in the Game Day office, we feel a home game coming as soon as the clock hits zero on the previous weekend’s game. However, for everyone else in here in the Dome, they feel a game weekend arrive at 4:00 PM on Friday when hundreds of fans fill the rotunda of the Main Building to catch the Notre Dame Trumpets play under the Dome.

Fans fill the rings of the third and fourth floors of the Dome to look down at the Trumpets on the second floor as they play the Alma Mater and the Victory March. It’s a great way to welcome fans and the arrival of a Notre Dame Football weekend.

Be sure to visit the Dome when you’re on campus for the first home game of the season. Friday, September 4th at 4:00 PM. Can’t make it Friday? Catch “Trumpets Under the Dome” on Saturday, September 5th at 6:30 PM. For this performance, the Trumpets will line the third and fourth floors of the Main Building, so grab a great viewing spot on the second floor.

Game Day Introduces New Safety Initiative

Game Day Operations is committed to continually enhancing safety and security for all fans attending Notre Dame football games, especially for our youngest Fighting Irish fans!

As we look forward to the 2015 season, Game Day is proud to introduce Safe in the Seat , a program devised to speed the process of reuniting children (and others who may be vulnerable if separated from the people they are with) and guardians who become separated while attending football games by providing wristbands that can be customized with the child's name, the guardian's contact information, and the child's seat location.

Upon entrance to the stadium, parents/guardians can obtain a Safe in the Seat wristband from one of five Guest Services booths located on the lower concourse at gates A, B, C, D, and E. Prior to games, wristbands can be obtained from NDSP officers patrolling the tailgating lots.

Guardians will be asked to complete the fields on the wristbands. In the event the child and guardian become separated, ushers and officers will use the information provided on the wristbands to reunite the child and guardian so they can continue to enjoy their game day.
