In tribute to the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. students, faculty and staff walked out of the Main Building after a midnight prayer service in honor of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. This marks the inaugural event of a campus-wide Walk the Walk Week observance, during which students, faculty and staff have been asked to reflect on the values central to Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy and the mission of Notre Dame.  |

This famous photo, taken on July 21, 1964, at a civil rights rally at Soldier Field in Chicago, shows Father Theodore Hesburgh together with Rev.
